CornwallCornwall was the place we went for most of our summer holidays when we were kids. Mum was born in Launceston, and when she was a girl used to catch the post van to a bay called Polzeath. When mum and dad married she took him there as well, and then us kids as well as we grew up. We loved it, a huge sandy bay, surf rolling in for body boarding, hundreds of rock pools to explore, and a stream running down the middle for making dams. My fathers family started coming to the beach as well, and we used to look forward to the summers meeting cousins, aunts and uncles and grandparents. More than half my summer holidays as a child, and another dozen holidays since I have grown up? (when did that happen?) make this a great favourite.
