Countries I have visitedOne thing has always amazed me about countries I have visited and lived in, that is, how many people have never left their own town, state or country! Everywhere I have lived I have spent a lot of time exploring the town and the surrounding countryside, finding out the history of the area, and what makes the place tick. Here in Spain where we live now, there are lots of people who have never left the village we live in - not just the old people, but the children as well. We are only about 70km from the beaches on the Costa Blanca, but many of the children have never been to a beach in their lives. We have offered to take some of Kevin's friends with us on our day trips, but their parents are horrified by the idea. My interest in finding out the history of places we visit has now rubbed off onto Jo & Kevin, and we all find out as many interesting facts as we can about each location, and play did you know?.... With the exception of Dubai, I have spent a lot of time in each of the following countries, driving thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of miles around the country, trying the foods, watching the festivals, sampling the local beers and wines and diving when possible.
